Lindsay Barnes - The Health Worker

Dr Lindsay Barnes completed her PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1989, and has been living and working in the villages of the Bokaro district of Jharkhand ever since. She helped establish the women’s health programme of Jan Chetna Manch Bokaro, a community-based NGO, which was registered in the mid ‘90’s. She is currently one of the Directors and is involved in health-related research and the development of the Chetna Mahila Swasthya Kendra.

ಬೊಕಾರೊ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರೇತರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾದ(ಎನ್‌ ಜಿ ಒ) ಜನ ಚೇತನಾ ಮಂಚ್, ತಾಯಂದಿರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಪ್ರಭಾವದ ಕುರಿತು ಒಂದು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಅಧ್ಯಯನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿತು. ಈ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವರದಿಯ ಸಾರಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
